The “Cottage Kitchen” which had been a landmark in Canby for 30 years has been reopened after being closed for two years.  Located on NW 1st Avenue, near Grant Street, the restaurant has been renamed the “Canby Kitchen” and is being operated under new ownership by the Father/Daughter partnership of Ron and Christina.  Both feel very fortunate to have this opportunity in Canby as well as the caliber of people they have been able to staff their restaurant with.  Prices are very reasonable and great portions are served.  Many repeat customers have said “it is the best meal in town”.  Operating hours are Tuesday thru Sunday, 7AM to 3PM.  Lunch and breakfast are served any time.  A meeting room is in back that will accommodate 15-20 people with advance notice if privacy is desired.  Christina and Ron invite everyone to try what they feel is a winning combination at the Canby Kitchen.

Don Kirkpatrick started Oregon City Vacuum Center in 1979. His business goal was to sell top quality vacuum cleaners  at an affordable price, also to offer affordable repair on most all models, selling supplies such as bags, belts then later filters. Don & his wife Anna May operated Oregon City Vacuum from 1979-1999 when Don sold the business to Randy Good. Randy had opened a store in Canby but later closed for many different reasons. In August 2005 James Allen, a longtime customer bought the store and has continued on with the reputation that Don, Anna May and Randy had achieved. Good old fashion service. The store has more inventory and more choices then ever before. We repair most types of machines and have most anything a customer may need

Please Hold Systems, a local Canby business, opened it’s doors in October 1996 doing on hold messaging for companies in the local area.  They have expanded their services to include voice over work for radio and television commercials, web audio, telephone system prompts, voice mail recordings and narrations.  Requests come in regularly for members of the worldwide voice pool to audition for voice work.  The Please Hold Systems family of happy customers is over 500 strong and expands internationally.
