Housing OptionsNowhere is the desirability of living in Canby more clearly evident than in the number of new homes built each year. In 2001 the figures broke down into 122 single-family homes and 13 multi-family units. Most of the multi-family units are in the HOPE Village Development, a senior living facility on the south end of town. MAJOR SUBDIVISIONS Tofte Farms, a Renaissance Homes subdivision, is currently constructing homes South of SE 13th Street and East of Ivy Street, near Ackerman Middle School. Faist Farms, a five-phase plan that totals 132 homes, is currently in Phases IV and V. They are located between Trost Elementary and SE 13th Street. Territorial Estates, at N. Holly Street and NW Territorial Road, began construction of 45 homes in 2002. Other subdivisions include: Blair Commons (84 lots) located on Southeast Township Road; Erika Acres (40 lots) and Heritage Park (40 lots) both located on North Redwood. Conners Corner (28 lots) and Vine Meadows (21 lots) are located off of Territorial Road in the Northeast area of Canby. Smaller subdivisions include: Redwood Park (17 homes); Katie Acres (4 homes); Township Corner (5 homes); Lillian's Meadow Phase II (10 lots) ; Canby Garden Estates (7 homes); Villa Nova Estates (7 homes); Laura Meadows (5 lots). DEVELOPMENTS Village on the Lochs, is a manufactured home community with 133 lots. Sites include construction of garages and driveways. Village on the Lochs is located on the south side of Canby, on Elm St. Pine Crossing manufactured home community will hold 74 homes. Pine Crossing is on the south side of Canby and readily accessible from Highway 99E at Pine Street. Casa Verde Apartments is a multi-family 26-unit community located on the south side of Canby. These apartments were built for farm workers passing through Canby. Redwood Terrace Apartments holds 57 units and is located on the north side of Canby, off Redwood Street. Royal Ascot Apartment has 88 units and is on South-East 5th; Orchard Apartments offers 72 units, located on south Pine Street; Pine Terrace Apartments hold 40 units and is located on north Pine Street at 8th Avenue; Manor on the Green, a 30 unit condominium is located on Territorial Road. The Rackleff House is another assisted living option Canby has to offer, with its comfortable, secure, scenic setting. Small enough to feel like home, with all the professional services and amenities you require. Another option in senior living is Country Side Living, a beautiful residential care facility which specializes in Alzheimers and dementia care, is located in the downtown core area.
