Canby is a community that values and nurtures education for students
at all levels. Canby School District is dedicated to assuring
a quality education for each and every student it serves. As
with other districts in the state, Canby faces challenges such as
higher academic standards, tight fiscal constraints, and mandated
student assessments. Nevertheless, Canby continues to succeed
in delivering quality educational experiences in safe and updated
facilities.

Canby School District unified in 1994 bringing
Carus School District, Ninety-One School District, Canby Elementary
School District, and Canby High School District together for the
first time. Although the District is geographically large (85
square miles), all schools work together with district
administration to offer a comprehensive and complete menu of
services and educational experiences touching all corners of the
district. |

Elementary Schools |
|
Six elementary schools
will operate within the district. In the southeast part of
town is Cecil Trost Elementary School, which opened in 1993 for
students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Philander Lee

grade in the southeast and southwest sections of Canby.
William Knight Elementary and Howard Eccles Elementary have
adjoining campuses in northwest Canby and both serve K-5 students on
the Canby's north side. Eccles hosts students from Charbonneau
and rural Aurora as well.
Ninety-One School,
eight miles south of Canby in a rural setting, serves students in
K-8. Carus Elementary, seven miles to the east of Canby, serves

reading programs. |
